We are very interested in projects that delve into the intricate exploration of sexuality within the realms of post-identity, xenopoetics, ecoqueer perspectives and intra-action. Our goal is to foster projects that display sexuality as a dynamic and intertwined facet of the human experience.
Located within a post-identitarian framework that values diversity and fluidity, our explorations aim to bring creative and ecological dimensions to the discourse around sexuality. They aspire to push the boundaries of linguistic expression and anchor sexuality within broader ecological contexts.
By emphasizing the relational nature of sexuality, we underline the significance of its intra-action, weaving intricate plots with other entities. By fusing these diverse perspectives, we aim to foster a holistic understanding that transcends conventional frameworks. This initiative seeks to invite a more inclusive and interconnected exploration of sexuality, celebrating its countless forms and expressions.

In our search for innovative exploration processes, we invite artists to participate in residencies at Observatorio del Placer. These residencies are dedicated to research and practice, with a specific focus on various aspects of the broad spectrum of sexuality.

RESIDENCE APPLICATION RULES
_ RECIPIENTS
Artists and collectives looking for a workspace to develop research and practice projects on the exploration of sexuality within the context of post-identity, xenopoetics, ecoqueer and intra-action from perspectives that challenge traditional notions of identity, interact with diverse forms of expression and highlight the intertwinings between the human and the more than human.
_ DATES
Open call to receive proposals
_ from November 23, 2023 to Jenuary 4, 2024.
From the applications received, we will choose a maximum of 8 projects that will be carried out at Observatorio del Placer during the year 2024.
We reserve the right not to grant the total amount of residences in the event that the proposals do not correspond to the line of work of Observatorio del Placer.
Project selection resolution
_ As of Monday, January 8, 2024, we will communicate the selected projects.
_ ENDOWMENT
Observatorio makes available the space and technical equipment that currently exists.
DOWNLOAD TECHNICAL DOSSIER
Access to the workspace will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday for one week. In very specific cases that take into account the rest of the space’s programming, another time or duration could be considered for the residency.
During the month of the residency, the artist or collective will be able to access the rest of the activities carried out at Observatorio del Placer free of charge.
_ TERMS
For their part, the artist or collective must carry out an activity open to the public or participants around the topic of their research or production, on the last day of their residency or during the following two weeks.
They will also deliver a short report of the work and the conclusions made during their process in space.
The artists or collectives who are the authors of the selected projects must transfer the rights of public communication during the period of residence and difussion of the work for promotional purposes and for incorporation into the website and archives of Observatorio del Placer for communication and investigation.
_ ACTIVITY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC OR PARTICIPANTS
The activity carried out will depend on each project, so it remains to be defined.
The activities that are usually carried out at Observatorio del Placer have an economic collaboration.
If the activity carried out has a collaboration to access, 25% of the benefit of the activity will be for the artist or group.
The maximum capacity of the space is 45 people.
** At OdP we do not want anyone to be left out of the activities due to economic issues, so if someone requests it, they can access without collaboration.
