BODY [DYS]MORPHING _ Forbidden:4ØΞrror

In this one-week residency, we invite local audience to join us in exploring our unique and complex relationships with our bodies: shifting the narrative from constant dissatisfaction with with perceived flaws to one of the care, intimacy, desire and love we deserve; challenging the (hetero)normative beauty standards and conventional perceptions of sex and love. Through somatic practices and sacred rituals we will explore queer perspectives on self-intimacy and masturbation, (re)connecting with our bodies and learning to let go, and being present and holding space for a gentle touch of love and desire to ourselves. Self-touch is a radical act of self-liberation and resistance against societal shame on our queer bodies and sexual expressions. Through caring attention to our bodies we reclaim them as truly ours: a reclamation of our own ways of moving, behaving, connecting and loving ourselves and each other. We learn to embrace desire in its many forms and shapes and to heal through it, connecting to who we truly are and learning to feel home within ourselves.

No previous experience needed to join the group. There will be no collective performance, the activities are focused on exploring intimacy with ourselves. Come as you are, bring comfortable clothes and materials that make you feel safe like a blanket or a favourite plushie, bring a small mirror.

Activity open to those who investigate their sexuality regardless of the gender or identity of the people they will meet in the experience. Participation is free.

_ Performance _ 18 enero 19h

In the final activity performance “BODY [DYS]MORPHING” multidisciplinary artist and performer Forbidden:4ØΞrror (they/them) will share their journey overcoming body dysmorphia through self-touch, self-love and self-sex. Music will be performed by experimental sound artist Comf (they/them), who is utilising sounds and textures in collaboration with Forbidden:4ØΞrror to create a sonic landscape for the final performance.

Forbidden:4ØΞrror

Sofa (they/them) es bruja moderne, artista y performer multidisciplinaria, neurodivergente y no binarie, que trabaja en el procesamiento del trauma, las emociones, la sanación y las interacciones con el mundo que nos rodea a través del arte abstracto y las performances. Ser diferente en un mundo moldeado por sistemas y reglas binarias llevó a Sofa a explorar realidades alternativas dentro de sus mundos imaginarios personales y canalizarlas en el arte, combinando diferentes medios en el proceso de sanación y devenir. Un tema central en su trabajo es el trauma y la sanación, específicamente, la exploración de nuestros mundos internos, miedos y deseos a través de la expresión artística, al tiempo que abraza la vulnerabilidad y la apertura como partes esenciales de este proceso. Trabajar con conceptos abstractos les permite experimentar con lenguajes y expresiones no verbales de múltiples capas, investigando cómo la representación y la comunicación dan forma a los individuos en relación con la sociedad. A través de su arte, Sofa tiene como objetivo guiar al público en un viaje interior, evocando sentimientos de incomodidad y confusión que eventualmente conducen a la catarsis y al momento de dejarse llevar, fomentando la sanación personal y colectiva.

Comf

Jazz (they/them) es productore/intérprete que equilibra su tiempo entre la creación de diseño de sonido para el arte de nuevos medios y la producción de sus propios temas que abarcan géneros de bajo experimental, breaks, downtempo y electrónica experimental. Su proyecto principal, Comf, se centra en el uso de la música electrónica experimental como una salida para el derramamiento de sangre que teje una elaborada historia de su vida y sus experiencias. Tras el lanzamiento de un proyecto de tres EP en 2021, The Texture Tapes, produjeron y masterizaron obras para la exposición ‘Au bord du styx’, en la Galerie l’aléatoire, París, además de crear un paisaje sonoro para la pieza de artes escénicas ‘Body of The Beast’, que se presentó en Catalyst, Berlín. Más recientemente, han creado el diseño de sonido para la pieza experiencial de realidad virtual, «Anamnesis», además de producir la pieza de pasarela para el debut de Hector Maclean en la Semana de la Moda de Londres a finales de 2023.
