_ Convocatoria abierta · Residencia artística 7 – 13 oct
_ Open Studio / Performance Sharing Sunday, October 13th
“Undisguised” is the first research for a new project and intertwines choreography and somatic practices. Within the frame of the one-week residency at Observatorio del Placer, my wish is to investigate and create a space for encounters and consensual connections to happen, while being creative, playful and engaging the physical, emotional and erotic body. “Undisguised“ takes gestures of intimacy and dispositives of support (giving & receiving) as an ethical and creative input, and attempts to formulate what are the rituals of gathering of the 21st century.
Working across slow movement, intimacy, presence, holding space, consent, text, conscious touch and singing, I propose to examine the desire or wish of “belonging”. We rehearse intimacy and train the muscles of vulnerability – positioning the focus on the process. The deliberate modulation of speed (slow tempo), serves as a conduit to (co-)regulate the nervous system of both performers and viewers. This intentional pacing creates a space for intimacy where the performers move beyond exhibitionism, fostering a sense of communal presence by sharing, not showing. The choreography and the aesthetics emerge from a conscious cultivation of somatic practices and bodily states.
“Undisguised” explores geographies of affection and how we navigate with and through them. “Undisguised” is part of an intimate series that started with “Fire Starter” (2019) and continued with “Inviting Moments of Stillness“ (2020), “A hole the size of your touch” (2021) and “Æffective Choreography” (2022).
Open call
This call is for performers that are interested in joining the research and performance (open studio) and who are interested in investigating their physical, emotional and erotic body within the frame of the residency. We will investigate intimate gestures within the frame of the research residency, and you will have agency to decide what you want or not want to do. You will have an overview on how I create work and how I intertwine personal themes within my artistic projects.
Activity open to those who investigate their sexuality regardless of the gender or identity of the people they will meet in the experience.
If you are interested or curious, and if you feel (somehow) comfortable with full nudity, with touch and intimacy, write me a few lines (max. 400 characters) about yourself. If you wish you can also send your Instagram, a photo of yourself and a short video of you performing.
